AbbyU14 Girls
The Miners under 14 Girls travelled to Hawthorn, in Round 10 of the Victorian Junior Basketball League last Friday night.

The Miners started the game extremely slowly unable to find any sort of rhythm which allowed Hawthorne to stay in control for much of the first quarter.

Emily Brugman and Elizabeth Werry stepped up to cover the loss of Ballarat’s two leading scorers and helped their side back into the lead by the half time break.

The second half was all Ballarat as they extended their defensive pressure and forced many turnovers from Hawthorn.

The Miners continuing their good start to the season with another 22 point win. Ballarat 63 def Hawthorn 41.

U16 Girls
The Miners under 16 Girls played away against Melbourne Tigers last Friday night.

Ballarat jumped out of the blocks with some long three pointers from Emma White and Abi Wehrung but Melbourne Tigers responded and closed the gap to 1 point at quarter time.

Courtney Harrison fired up the Miners in the second quarter, scoring 8-points, which helped Ballarat take a 3-point advantage into the half time break.

Ballarat picked up its defence in the second half which opened up their scoring opportunities and allowed the Miners to extend the final margin to 12 points. Ballarat 57 def Melbourne 45.

U14 Boys
The Miners under 14 Boys went down to Dandenong last Friday night 56 – 62. Match report not available.

U16 Boys
The Miners under 16 Boys game was postponed to a later date.

U18 Boys
The under 18 Miners Boys had no games in Round 10.
