After a tough few opening minutes, it was Nunawading who finally broke the drought and took control on the scoreboard.
Ballarat lifted its intensity in the second half but Nunawading had all the answers as turnovers become the telling factor in the end result.
Elizabeth Werry controlled the offensive end for Ballarat, while teammate Kasey Burton was solid at the defensive end.
In the end the Miners had no answer for Nunawading and went down 27 – 35.

The second quarter Ballarat picked up the tempo and caused some quick turnovers from Nunawading which helped set up a 14 point advantage at the major break.
Maddie Davis dominated the boards for Ballarat but it was Nunawading that got themselves back in the game thanks largely to Ballarat’s poor shooting throughout the third quarter.
