ID Programs at Minerdome Basketball
The BBA has one of the state’s leading programs for basketballers with intellectual disabilities. The Ballarat Prospectors were formed in 2002 and after winning three premierships in a row in the Wimmera/Central Grampians League, have moved into mainstream local basketball, playing in 16/U B Grade Red Division. In addition, the players regularly compete in regional and state Special Olympics Tournaments and have had success at this level as well, with teams made up of boys and girls aged from 10 to 21.Instrumental in developing players into teams has been the growth of the HUB – a weekly sports and activity program running at the Arch each Monday night from 4pm to 5pm .
All existing prospective players are welcome to attend these sessions held during school terms.
