Ballarat gets a good start to 2010 VJBL Competition
Friday night was the return of the 2009-2010 VJBL competition for Ballarat
junior basketball players. Six Ballarat teams have been competing in the grading
phases of the competition since September last year in a bid to qualify for a chance

SEABL D League Team Manager - Nuggets
The Nuggets require the services of Volunteer Team Manager for Season 2010.
Tasks will include attendance at training and games, preliminary work prior to training, care of equipment and uniforms, distribution and collection of administrative information, adherence to timetables and team plans as well as being a supportive assistant to the coach and BBA staff. Some aspects may be delegated or rostered.
Duties are not onerous but are consistent over the period February through to August.
First Aid and/or Bus Licence would be advantageous but not essential.

Ballarat Basketballers Home From U.S Tour
Two local basketball players have just returned home from 19 day tour of the United States where they represented Basketball Victoria Country on its annual tour. The tour group is made up of players from scholarship holders from the National Intensive Training Centre Program managed by Basketball Australia. Read More

Ladies Basketball Supporting Local Charity
Ballarat Basketball Ladies Daytime competition made the decision a few seasons ago that they would donate their trophy money each season to a charity. The ladies have now donated to various charities such as 3ba Christmas Appeal, the Make a Wish Foundation and the Heart Foundation. Read More

A Grade Report: Celtic Tigers Dominate Junior Girls A Grade Grand Finals
The under 16 Girls A grade Grand Final saw a match-up between Celtic Tigers Red and Exies Maroon who had been the
form sides of the competition all year. After a hard fought first half in which neither side could gain any ascendancy,
the game changed dramatically in the second half as Emma White, Molly Mathews and Melita Reid put on a scoring clinic. Seemingly scoring at will the trio put Celtic in the box seat and they were never headed, coming away with a fantastic 43-38 victory and the Gerard Coffey memorial trophy. For the runners up Ella Burton, Emma Hills and Jane Douglass were all great contributors. Read More

Grand Finals keep spectators on edge of their seats.
The Minerdome was host to some exciting finals action at the weekend; with many games coming down to the last second to be decided.
In the Under 11 Boys it was Exies Acmy taking on Drummond St White in a nail biting Grand Final. It was the Exies team who stamped their dominance early in the game on both ends of the court, with Max Edwards providing a handy 9 points in the first half. However, Drummond St had an answer in Jordan Johnston who managed 12 first half points. Read More
