People & Communities Portfolio Councillor Mark Harris said the City of Ballarat Youth Recognition Awards are a fitting acknowledgement of the talent, passion and hard work of some of Ballarat’s young people.
“The award winners and nominees have dedicated a great deal of time and energy to Ballarat and their chosen project or cause. The awards acknowledge their efforts in the community and encourage Ballarat’s young people to continue leading our city in a positive and exciting direction,” he said.
The 2009 City of Ballarat Youth Recognition Awards attracted more then 90 nominations in 14 categories. This represent an increase in nominations from the 2008 awards.
More than 200 people are anticipated at the awards night, including award winners and nominees, their families, sponsors and community members with an interest in youth.
