RetireInvest Ballarat Miners rising young star Ricky Henderson has been selected to attend the inaugural NBL Prospects Camp to be conducted at the Waverley Basketball Stadium in Melbourne on July 21, 22 and 23.
The intensive 3-day camp runs from 9am to 4pm daily and provides Australia’s best young basketball players with an excellent opportunity to display their skills and candidacy to make the roster of a team in the National Basketball League (NBL).
The NBL will arrange for a coach or scout from each NBL team to attend the camp and each NBL team will be receiving a full report on all the camp participants.
Each player attending will also receive feedback on what areas of their game they need to improve on to enhance their chances of making the roster of an NBL team.
The camp will consist of skill development sessions, physical testing, shooting competitions and game scrimmages.
Former NBL Coach and Basketball Victoria Director of Coaching Ian Stacker will be in charge of the camp.
Henderson said that he was delighted to get the opportunity to assess his skills against other younger players from around Australia. “This camp will help me see how much work I need to do to make it to the next level”, Henderson said.
