The RetireInvest Ballarat Miners today announced that Gold Coast Blaze player Daniel Joyce would join the Miners 2010 line up.
Joyce recently finished his role as a professional basketball player with the Gold Coast Blaze at the end of the 2008/09 seasons.
General Manager Robbie Burns said “Daniel is a hard working and dedicated player with a considerable amount of experience in the National Basketball League, im sure he will be a great player for the Miners in 2010. Playing as point a guard Daniel will help the cover some of the gaps left through the retirements of Brett Goodgame and Ryan Stevens”
Daniel is no stranger to Ballarat with his father Brendan Joyce a former coach of the Miners. When asked about the move to Ballarat Daniel said, “Im really excited to be playing in Ballarat, this will be my first time playing in SEABL but from what I can tell the competition is extremely strong. Im really looking forward to playing under Guy Molloy, to have someone of that calibre coaching in the program is a real credit to Ballarat”
Daniel finished his time with the Gold Cost Blaze by winning the clubs “Best Defensive Player “ for the 2008-9 seasons and finished in the NBL’s top 20% for three point shooting.
A major highlight in Daniel’s career was to be selected in the 2009 Australian Boomers
Squad.
Daniel will move to Ballarat in January to start training with the Miners squad
