Miners secure Wes Davidson Real Estate in naming rights deal

The Ballarat Basketball Club today announced that Wes Davidson Real Estate have come together in a partnership with the Club, which will see the team be known as the Wes Davidson Real Estate Miners.

Club President, Nick Grylewicz, in announcing the naming rights of the Miners for the 2010 season said that the Club was extremely pleased to be able to have secured an outstanding community supporter such as Wes Davidson Real Estate as naming rights sponsor.

Mr. Grylewicz said that the Miners were one of the highest profile sporting teams in the State of Victoria and along with the Lady Miners are the only sporting teams in Ballarat competing in a National Competition on a weekly basis and it was important to have the support of such a major business in Wes Davidson Real Estate.

Mr. Grylewicz emphasised the fact that basketball in Ballarat attracts many thousands of visitors to the City each year, which in turn has an economic impact of millions of dollars being spent each year in Ballarat as a direct result of the promotion of the sport and that the Wes Davidson Real Estate Miners were an important ingredient in the continued promotion of the City of Ballarat. Wes Davidson Real Estate was established in 1993 and is now recognised as one of Western Victoria's most progressive, innovative, and successful real estate companies specialising in residential sales and property management with offices located in Ballarat, Ararat & Horsham.

Company founder and Director Wes Davidson was excited about the partnership saying: ”Sport is an integral part of our communities, and Basketball involves many families at various levels of competition. The Miners provide a goal and pathway for developing players from this region to play at national level and we welcome the opportunity to support that".

The Naming rights comes at the end of a very good period for the club after securing the services of Guy Molly as head coach for the next three season, along with the recent signing of former NBL Guard Daniel Joyce for the Gold coast Blaze.

Wes went on to say, “The club has set itself some definitive targets moving forward, and the appointment of Guy is evidence of the direction the club is actually taking. We are pleased to be part of this”
