The Ballarat Community Health Lady Miners have announced that Townsville Fire player,
Amy Lewis will be returning for her second season.
Amy returns to The Ballarat Community Health Lady Miners on the back of a stellar WNBL season currently averaging 17 points per game, making her the fourth leading scorer in the Competition.
Coach Kym Cassells is thrilled that Lewis is returning to Ballarat, “Amy was first on our list when it came to putting a team together for 2010.” “Amy is really starting to develop her game at both ends of the floor and will be a go to player for us this year. I’m really looking forward to having her back in a Lady Miners uniform.”
Lewis, originally from Hamilton Victoria, will complete her studies at the University of Ballarat with one year remaining on her Physical Education degree. When asked about returning Lewis said, “My first year in Ballarat was great, it’s fantastic being close to my family who can come watch me play.
Ballarat gives me a chance to finish
my studies and play basketball at the same time, I couldn’t ask for a better fit”.
Lewis will arrive in Ballarat after her commitments with the Townsville Fire are completed.
The first opportunity to see the all the new players in action will be on the 13th of February when the Miners and Lady Miners compete against past legends of the club in their annual exhibition match.
