BALLARAT vs DANDENONG

Dandenong has recorded a fantastic eight game winning streak since losing to Ballarat by one point in round two.  The Rangers have now moved into second position and could take over the number one position should they win again this week.  However they could drop as low as fifth should the loss again to the Lady Miners.

Ballarat has also been playing good basketball of late and are 1-4 in their past five games.  Both teams had slow season starts but have put together a great mid season streak and keen to stay at the top of the ladder.
The off season additions of Rachel Jarry (18.4pts, 10rebs) and Karen Ashby (15pts, 8rebs, 2.5ass, 2.5blks) have been outstanding for the Lady Miner, as both are combining well in the paint and causing headaches for many opposition coaches. 

The Lady Miners dynamo duo combined for 35pts in the rd three contest and will need to be a major focus on defence for the Rangers.  Between Cumming, Downie, Terdich and playing coach Anderson the Rangers have the depth to contain the Lady Miners frontcourt.

Clare Papavs has been playing fantastic basketball for the Lady Rangers in recent weeks and will likely be given another tough defensive assignment this week in limiting Lady Miners sharp shooter Amy Lewis.  Papavs has proved to be a quality defender in all games this season and has the skills to limit the productivity of Lewis.
