Chanise Jenkins Signs on!

The Selkirk Ballarat Rush are pleased to announce the signing of American Chanise Jenkins for the 2019 season.

Jenkins is a De Paul University graduate and has since played the last two seasons in Switzerland and impressively represented the USA at the 2015 World University games winning a gold medal.  Jenkins final year at College saw her average 14.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

Selkirk Ballarat Rush Head Coach Eric Hayes said “We are very excited to welcome Chanise to the Rush program for 2019” Hayes added “Chanise is a very skilled point guard that will bring a lot to our program, she can score, facilitate others to score, defend, has great leadership skills and a super work ethic”

Basketball Ballarat Rush Elite Teams Chair Lynly Doherty said “We are thrilled to see talent like Chanise’s represent Ballarat Selkirk Rush in 2019. Chanise comes at an exciting time for Basketball Ballarat and we look forward to seeing her creative play bring success to the woman’s program this year”.

Hayes finished with “Chanise is easy to talk to and very personable so she will fit into to our team and the community really well.  I am really looking forward to her arrival.”

Jenkins is excited to be coming to Ballarat saying “I am really looking forward to coming to Ballarat, I got a chance to speak with coach Eric Hayes, and his insight on the team and his expectations for the season is what got me really fired up for the season”.

Jenkins continued “I am extremely grateful of this opportunity I have with Ballarat Rush, and I am looking forward to meeting the team, coaches, and everyone associated with the organization. The goal is to win a championship, and I can’t wait to get started in that pursuit”.

Jenkins will arrive in Ballarat in mid-February and will join Joy Burke, Claire Constable and Claire Blower for preseason training before the season starts on March 30th.

The Ballarat Selkirk Rush will be making some more player announcements in the coming weeks as they ramp up their preparations for the season.
