Saints Knicks 14 Boys A march into Grand Final

Saints Knicks have cemented a Grand Final berth in the 14 Boys A competition with a dominant 70-37 victory over Celtic Red. Charlie Molan led all scorers with 22, whilst teammates Jeziah Woods had 19 and Jude McGuire 16. Jayden Archer-Jeffrey led Celtic Red with 10.

Both teams opened up the game firing, with scoring going back and forth for majority of the opening 5 minutes. Charlie Molan began to stamp his impact on the game in a variety of different ways. After getting himself on the scorers list, Molan then did a great job of distributing and finding open teammates who knocked down shots. Jeziah Woods and Jude McGuire did a great job of converting the opportunities provided by Molan.

Saints Knicks teamwork in the opening half was incredible, with everyone willing to make extra passes in order to find the best option. Jude McGuire worked extremely hard defensively, getting in the right spot and putting his body on the line resulting in two charges. Celtic Red only managed 8 points in the opening half, whilst Saints Knicks put up 20 points heading into the break.

Saints Knicks put their foot on the accelerator coming out of the break, quickly extending their lead. Celtic Red tried their hardest to chip into the lead, but their inability to prevent Molan, Woods and McGuire from scoring proved costly and prevented any comeback from being possible. Celtic Red’s Jayden Archer-Jeffrey fought hard in the second half to keep his team in the contest, but unfortunately it was too little, too late as Saints Knicks had already put the final nail in the coffin.

Saints Knicks went on to record a 33 point victory and go straight through to the Grand Final where they will come up against Celtic Green.
