Injury update AR

The Ballarat Miners today sadly confirm that import Andrew Robinson suffered a severe knee injury during our game against the Hobart Chargers. Robinson suffered this injury in the closing stages of the game, and further scans and MRIs later revealed that he had snapped his patella tendon and tore his meniscus.

Following the injury, Robinson underwent successful surgical repair late last week and has since commenced an intensive rehabilitation program. While the recovery timeline is still being determined, the club understands he will be sidelined for the remainder of the 2025 season.

“This is heartbreaking news for Andrew, our playing group and our entire club,” said Neville Ivey, CEO of Ballarat Basketball. “Andrew has been a model of professionalism and dedication since day one, and while we’ll miss his on-court talents, our priority is supporting him through recovery. The Ballarat community is right behind him every step of the way.”

Head Coach Luke Brennan added, “Andrew’s impact goes far beyond his scoring and playmaking. His leadership and work ethic set the standard for our team. We’ll rally around him, and I know he’ll attack this rehab with the same determination he brings to the court.”

The Ballarat Miners invite supporters and members of the community to send messages of encouragement to Andrew via the club’s social media channels or email (reception@ballaratbasketball.com).

The club will update on Robinson’s progress throughout his rehabilitation and looks forward to seeing him back out on the court in the near future.
