Booker brings Scoring Threat to Miners

The Ballarat Subaru Miners have added a strong scoring threat to their team with the addition of American swingman Roy Booker.

Booker is coming off a season in France’s Pro B league where he averaged 19.1 points per game with 50 per cent shooting accuracy.
Miners Head Coach David Flint is excited about adding Booker’s scoring prowess to the Miners roster.

“Roy brings a wealth of professional experience to our group and has been a proven prolific scorer at every level he has played and we expect his impact on the SEABL will be immediate.”

“Roy a tremendous shooter with range, understands how to operate the screen and roll and at 6’3″ he has the ability to get to the free throw line putting enormous amount of pressure on the opposing players.”

Flint emphasised the benefits brought about by Booker’s vast professional experience spanning USA, France, Israel, Austria and Syria.

“He will no doubt make the other players on the floor better and be a tremendous asset for our starting point guard Anthony Fisher along with Ash Constable,” said Flint.

“We are extremely fortunate to sign a guard with the talent that Roy brings to our program and he has the opportunity to have one of the best individual seasons an import has had in a number of seasons.”

Booker will arrive in Australia in mid-February to play in several pre-season games in preparation for the 2014 SEABL season which commences in March.
