How do I join a Team?

Juniors & Seniors Wanting to Join a Club – Click the "Join a Club" button to connect with club representatives. They’ll provide details on pricing, registration, uniforms, Training Days and everything you need to get started. Club representatives can be contacted Via email only, please note they are run by volunteers who work outside their respective Clubs so response times will vary.

Seniors Looking for a Social Team – Check out local Facebook groups and social media pages where teams often look for extra players.

How Do I register a Team? (Seniors/Social)

Registering a Senior Social Team

Any new team, or any existing team wishing to update its uniform, must have reversible singlets with contrasting colours, and the same numbers on both sides.
Official numbers are those specified by FIBA rules. Currently they are numbers from 00 to 99. Duplicate numbers are not permitted. The size of numbers in uniforms must not be less than 20cm on the back and not less than 10cm on the front of the playing singlet.
All players must wear the same colour basketball-style shorts. The shorts must have no pockets, zips or buttons. Any player found to have pockets, zips or buttons in their shorts past round 4 will be asked to leave the court and take no part in the game until correct shorts are sourced

Monday - (A GRADE)

Wednesday – Senior Men Social, Mixed (social)

I’m unsure which division to enter?

Monday – A Grade, A1 – A2

A Grade – The highest level of competition, only open to club teams.
A1 – The higher level of the two subdivisions within the A grade Structure, Strong level of Competition. Open to both clubs and social teams looking for a higher level of play.
A2 – The lowest level within the A Grade structure, offering strong competition but more accessible to social teams looking for a higher level of play.

Tuesday – B1 & B2 (Men & Women) Open to both Clubs and Social teams.

B1 is the higher of the two divisions, still competitive but a step below A Grade.
B2 is slightly lower, suited for players who want strong competition but at a more balanced level.
B3 Men’s - Good for players with decent experience but not necessarily at the top level.

Wednesday – Social Men, Mixed (Social) Open to both Clubs and Social teams.

Social – Men's Social competition games, graded 1-9 open to all skill levels.
Mixed (Social) – Men & women playing together, focusing on fun and participation rather than high-level competition.

Thursday – Masters, Women (Social) Open to both Clubs and Social teams.

Social competition, meaning games are more about having fun and staying active rather than being highly competitive. Open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players who want a more relaxed game.
Masters –For players (e.g., 35+ or 40+ leagues) who still want to compete.

How do I know what age group is best? (Juniors)

For all junior club-based competitions, players are placed into age groups based on how old they will be on December 31, 2025.

To find the right age group for you, simply figure out how old you'll be at the end of 2025, then match it to the categories below:

Winter 2025 Age Groups

Under-8
- For players aged 6 & 7 (or younger)
- Year of Birth: 2018, 2019, or later
Under-10
- For players aged 8 & 9 (or younger)
- Year of Birth: 2016 or 2017
Under-12
- For players aged 10 & 11 (or younger)
- Year of Birth: 2014 or 2015
Under-14
- For players aged 12 & 13 (or younger)
- Year of Birth: 2012 or 2013
Under-16
- For players aged 14 & 15 (or younger)

Under-19

My child is new to basketball. Where should we start?

We recommend starting with our Mini Miners and Aussie Hoops programs! These programs are designed to develop fundamental basketball skills in a fun and safe environment, making them perfect for beginners.

If your child is ready to join a team, we suggest reaching out to a local club. For juniors and seniors looking to get involved, click the "Join a Club" button to connect with club representatives. They can provide information on pricing, registration, uniforms, training days, and everything you need to get started.

Please note that club representatives can only be contacted via email, and since clubs are run by volunteers who work outside their respective roles, response times may vary.

Captains have the authority to initiate a forfeit directly through the Teampay app.

*Please contact the stadium prior to 5pm Monday-Friday if you know that you will not be able to play a game in advance. After hours phone lines are available to call however messages left may not be seen until the next business day.

How do we pay for our games?

We use TeamPay for game payments. Players will need to download the TeamPay app and obtain a payment code from their team captain or club representative.

If you’re unsure how to get started, we recommend reaching out to your team captain or club for further assistance.

Per Team payment:

Seniors: $92 Juniors: $72

Before each game, your team captain selects who will be playing and initiates payment for the team.

Once payments are confirmed, you’re all set to play. Enjoy the game without needing to carry cash or worry about last-minute payments.

If a player’s payment has failed, the first step is to have the player/parent check their card details are up to date and there are enough funds in the account. After the parent has checked their account, you can select the Retry Failed Payment button to re-attempt payment for the failed payee(s). This will only attempt to take payment from anyone whose payment initially failed.

If the other team has forfeited the game, you will receive a notification through the app to alert you to the change. The organization will then either carry over your payment to the following week or refund the team payment.
