Finals have been booked in for the A Grade and B Grade competitions for the 2019 Championship Season headed by Saints Basketball Club who topped both the A Men and A Women regular season ladders.
Saints will play off against Wildcats Blue in the Men’s 1 v 2 game whilst Exies Acmy and Phoenix Blue meet in the 3 v 4 game. Only 2 games split the first placed Saints to the fourth placed Phoenix Blue in an extremely tight season. 5th and 6th missed finals by one game also.
In the Women’s draw Saints will play Celtic Tigers Red in the top 2 clash, whilst Wildcats and Celtic Tigers Green will battle it out in an elimination final. Saints finished two games clear of second but dropped 2 games to Wildcats and one to Celtic Tigers Red during the season meaning the competition is far from over.
The finals series will be split between the Mars® Minerdome and Ballarat Sports Events Centre with all grand finals to be played at the Minerdome. Whilst the courts at BSEC are all playable there is still a few small things that need finalising so the decision for all senior grades to play Grand Final games at the Minerdome has been confirmed. We hope that in the next season we see more and more games at BSEC.
