The Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners are thrilled to announce the re-signing of Jordan Lingard who will return to the team for NBL1 2020.
Jordan made his debut for the Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners in 2019 after coming across from the Colac Kookas in the Country Basketball League (CBL) after a four year stint in the American college system prior to that.
Lingard was really looking forward to be back in Ballarat for 2020.
“Very excited to be coming back to Ballarat as I love the community, teammates, coaching staff, all the people around the association and will be amazing to see everyone in the new stadium next year” Lingard said.
Elite Teams Manager Glenn White said the return of Lingard was great for the squad.
“Having Jordan return to the Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners is a real plus for the team and he is a great example of the talent pathways in Western Victoria” White said.
Lingard is another player who has made his way through the talent pathways of country basketball to NBL1 and is a perfect example for aspiring juniors that if you put in the effort you give yourself the best possible opportunity to further you career.
“Jordan is very community minded and is a really great role model for the younger kids coming through the system so we are really pleased with his return in 2020” White ended with.
Director of Coaching Brendan Joyce was looking forward to Lingard returning.
“It’s great to have Jordan back after he worked his way into the team coming through our Western Region. Jordan improved as the season wore on and made some fantastic contributions in his role and we expect him to continue to improve to help the Miners have successful season.” Joyce said.
The Signing Jordan Lingard adds to the recent announcement of Kuany Kuany for the Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners ahead of NBL1 2020.
