The Ballarat Miners are thrilled to announce the re-signing of fan favourite Majok Majok for the upcoming 2025 Mitsubishi NBL1 South season. Majok’s return bolsters the team’s frontcourt with his exceptional experience and leadership.
In the 2024 season with the Miners, Majok showcased his prowess on the court, averaging 13.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game, while maintaining a field goal percentage of 52.83%. Currently, Majok is part of the South East Melbourne Phoenix roster in the NBL, where Miners Head Coach Luke Brennan serves as an assistant coach.
Majok Majok said coming back for another season was a no brainer, stating, “The community, my teammates, and the coaching staff were all incredible last year, and I’m excited to build on what we started. We came so close, and now the goal is to take that next step and go even further. I can’t wait to get back on the court and compete with this group again.”
Head Coach Luke Brennan was excited in having Majok re-sign, saying, “Stoked to have the big fella back for another season! Majok provided us with some much needed toughness around the basket last year and he also gives us a high level of experience.”
Neville Ivey, CEO of Basketball Ballarat added “We’re delighted to have Majok back with the Miners. His commitment to the team and the fans is commendable, and we anticipate great things in the upcoming season.”
Majok is the 5th signing for our Miners Men’s squad following the re-signing of Nick Stoddart as well as new key recruits in Aiden Krause, Clancy Bird and import Andrew Robinson with more key signings to come in the coming weeks and months. The Ballarat Miners kick off their season at home against arch-rival Bendigo on March 29th.
