Miners Get a Healthy Boost from GMHBA

Ballarat Basketball is proud to announce GMHBA Health Insurance as the Naming Rights Partner of the GMHBA Ballarat Miners.

Elite Teams Administrator Jimmy Hunt stated the partnership demonstrates a shared sense of community and focus on health and wellbeing.

“GMHBA is an excellent local health fund whose community values strongly reflect those of Ballarat Basketball,” said Hunt.

“We’re thrilled to have the support and recognition of such a highly regarded organisation.”

GMHBA Ballarat Branch Manager, Cassandra Burt, is looking forward to the new partnership.

“As a local not for profit health insurer GMHBA is at the heart of healthy communities. Partnering with the Ballarat Miners is a great fit as both organisations strive to improve the health of our local community and increase social connectedness.”

The 11 players named in the 2014 squad are returning locals Anthony Fisher, Ash Constable, Sean Massey and Jack Sullivan, promoted Youth League Miner Brady Neill, second-year players Chris Smith and Kris Blicavs, college graduate Liam Gibcus, local newcomer Dane Sisic, and American imports Roy Booker and Ken Horton.

David Flint and Eric Hayes continue as Head Coach and Assistant Coach, with Scott Talpey as Strength & Conditioning Coach, Peter Brooke as Team Manager, and Lake Health Group’s Paula Grylewicz as team physio.

The GMHBA Ballarat Miners host their first home game of the 2014 season on Saturday, April 5, at the MARS® MINERDOME.
