Miners, Rush Continue to Build

Ballarat Basketball held a celebratory lunch today at the site of their house being built at „The Chase‟ in Alfredton as the build is running ahead of schedule.

The Ballarat Subaru Miners and Auslec Ballarat Rush aim to raise funds to ensure local basketballers have the opportunity to compete at the elite level despite the tough economic climate and competitive demands.

“While once it was feasible to rely on what were essentially donations from the local business community, it‟s becoming more and more important to find new revenue streams to be able to provide the best resources for local basketballers,” said Club Administrator Jimmy Hunt.

“We‟re lucky to have such a supportive community in Ballarat and so many businesses who are actively doing their bit to benefit our city. The build started six weeks ago and we are overwhelmed to have accepted donations of goods, labour and cash totalling more than $20,000 so far.”

The Miners and Rush would like to thank all involved so far, with particular thanks to Integra and Macneil. Other supporters include Cameron’s Plumbing & Hardware, Lighthouse Building Permits, Walls Plus, Connor Construction and Design, Gary & Ash Meany, CME Temporary Fencing, Tony De Beer Electrical, SITA Australia, Auslec, Selkirk, Total Toilet, DHM Sand Gravel & Soil Supplies, Southern Star Windows, Quicks Plumbing, Mesh & Masonry Supplies, Laser Line Concreting, Advanced Cabinetry, Gay’s Home Hardware, Alice Roof Tiles, Command Star, Interline Roofing, Eureka Concrete, Skinner’s Plaster, Keatronics, BRI Landscaping, G Store, Lawler Floor Tiling, Trafford Heating and Air Conditioning, Mick Kerr Rendering, and Don Chichio‟s.
Supporters of the project are being rewarded with season tickets, corporate boxes, WIN Minerdome signage, lunches on site and other benefits.

The club is still seeking more support and would love to see the community get even more involved. It‟s not just limited to tradespeople; anyone can make donations to the project and all contributions are appreciated.

If you would like to be a part of the project or make a donation please contact Ballarat Basketball Club Administrator Jimmy Hunt at the WIN Minerdome on 5338 1220 or via emailjimmy.hunt@ballaratbasketball.com
