The Ballarat Miners are excited to announce the signing of Malia Fisher for the upcoming NBL1 South season.
A 6’2” forward out of Rice University, Fisher brings an elite collegiate resume and professional experience, having recently played for German club Rutronik Stars Keltern in the Damen-Basketball-Bundesliga.
During her time at college with the Rice Owls, Malia established herself as one of the program’s most consistent performers. In her senior campaign (2024–25), she averaged 12.6 points and 6.5 rebounds per game on her way to All-AAC First Team honours. Across her four-year collegiate career, she earned nine all-conference recognitions.
She was also named AAC All-Tournament MVP in her junior season after averaging 14.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game, helping Rice secure its first-ever AAC Championship and earn a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Fisher’s consistent scoring and rebounding production across her career highlight her ability to impact games in multiple ways. Her experience performing on the big stage, combined with her size and skill set, makes her an exciting addition to our group.
