Seven of Ballarat’s 10 Thrifty Junior Miners and Rush teams claimed victories last night in the Victorian Junior Basketball League. The Under 14 Miners led the way, claiming a 59-37 victory over Broadmeadows in the VJL2 competition at the Mars Minerdome.
Keenan Chapman set the standard for Ballarat, lodging eight of his 16 points in the final quarter. Josh Sparkman was also excellent with 11 points.
Five of six Ballarat teams playing at home notched wins, with the Under 16 Miners providing an exciting nailbiter for spectators on their way to victory in the last game of the evening.
Five Junior Miners and Rush teams play at home next Friday, June 2nd, in the Victorian Junior Basketball League.
