Is this one of Ballarat Basketballs oldest recorded teams?

Recently members of the Ballarat Heritage community provided a photograph of a basketball team from 1911 and wondered if it was a local team.

Research from The History of Basketball in Ballarat 1909 – 1999 that was compiled by Mr Ron Holmes show that this new game of basketball was officially introduced to Ballarat at the YMCA in Camp St on May 7^th, 1909, just 18 years after the sport was invented in the USA.

Records of competition being conducted in Ballarat exist from July 1909 and the earliest team photograph to date was of the Town Mission Basketball B Team from 1913.
