Ballarat Basketball Foundation Golf Day 2024
On Friday, April 5th, Ballarat Basketball held the very first edition of the “Ballarat Basketball Foundation Golf Day”, in fantastic weather conditions.
The Foundation assists members by way of providing individual athlete support, specialist coaching, and development opportunities. At Basketball Ballarat we aim to encourage the participation of our young people in sport and are determined to ensure that every aspiring young athlete has an equal opportunity to participate at the highest level that they are capable of achieving. Often we are in contact with a number of less fortunate families to whom we extend considerable assistance to ensure that their situation does not preclude a young boy or girl from achieving their dreams. It is via this Foundation that you can also assist Basketball Ballarat in assisting the youth of our city.
17 corporate teams of 4, totalling 68 competitors, took the fairways at Midlands Golf Club in the bid to not only shoot the lowest score, but more importantly raise the highest amount of funds possible for this great foundation and cause. Our participants were greeted at some of the activation holes by our NBL1 Female and Male Athletes, teams even had their drive taken by the Athlete, a career change for some in their post-basketball life perhaps? Our two head coaches, Luke Brennan & Kennedy Kereama joined forces with two of our competing teams, and numerous other Ballarat Basketball staff helped out in other avenues such as drinks carts, BBQ, Raffle sales, etc
In what was a brilliant day, we are pleased to say that we were able to raise a phenomenal $4,146.00, that will go towards our foundation and continue to assist our families and athletes strive for their sporting goals and dreams.
