Bendigo Bank Family of the Week

Saints Basketball Club are proud to nominate the Woods Family for the Bendigo Bank – Family Of The Week Award.

Proudly presented by Bendigo Bank delegate Neil Short, and GMHBA Miners Players; Cam McCallum, Chris Smith and Sam Short.

Casanda & Ricky drive their children from Ararat each week to play in Ballarat, making the trip back & forth approximately 5 times a week. Casanda manages the U/16 and U/18 boys teams, scores for these teams and her children are always willing to fill in when other teams are short on players. They are great supporters of Saints and are happy to help in any way they can.

Casanda started playing with Saints in 1990 & also played with the then Lady Miners in 1993 which fulfilled a lifelong goal. 3 of her children have now been playing with Saints for the past 5 years.

DJ plays in Saints A Grade under 18s and has represented Ballarat at elite level under 16 and under 18.

Jezza plays for Saints A Grade under 16 and has been filling in for under 18 as well, he has represented Ballarat at both under 14 and under 16 elite level.

Sabaya plays in Saints under 14s and has been fortunate enough to go to Jamboree and is now part of the Country Victoria Basketball Academy Program, following in her brothers footsteps.

Nevani doesn’t yet play in Ballarat, but is a proud supporter of Saints and no doubt will be a member in the coming years.

All four children play in Ararat’s domestic competition, and Casanda coaches all 4 teams.  All four children are in the Ararat Squads, representing under 12, 14,16 & 18 with Casanda coaching or team managing

Saints Basketball Club are extremely grateful of the support & passion of the Woods Family.
