WEEK 12

Welcome to Week 12 of the Home-Stay-Play Program, this will be our final week as we direct our resources to a return to play strategy.

This week we welcome Coach Alicia from the Selkirk Ballarat Rush!

 

Alicia will be focusing on some good drills to help you improve your ball handling and fitness as we try to condition our bodies for their return to sport.

 

 

We hope you have enjoyed the program over these last 3 months, and all the videos will continue to be available below for you to review!

WEEK 11

Welcome back for Week 11 of the -Home-Stay-Play Program!

 

We welcome back Coach Kuany for his final week with this age group, and he's got a workout that will work on your ball handling, shooting and agility.

 

We're almost back on court now, so it's really important you get your body ready for the rigours of competitive sport.

 

 

Be sure to keep using the RAD workouts below to improve your fitness.

 

WEEK 10

Welcome to Week 10 of the Home-Stay-Play Program!

 

This week we have Kuany Kuany from the Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners joining us again - Kuany will take us through a range of ball handling, agility and finishing drills to help us prepare for the return of competitive sport.

 

 

As you would have seen below, we have 6 different workouts available from our friends at RAD and Fed Uni - please be sure to use them to help begin conditioning your body, getting it ready for a return for competitive sport.

 

WEEK 9

Welcome back for Week 9 of the Home-Stay-Play Program! This week we have Sam Short, Amelia Jarvis and another work out from the RAD centre.

Ball Handling/Passing - Sam Short - Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners

Building on last weeks ball handling drills, Sam brings you a new workout that you can do against a wall or with a partner. Some of the moves get pretty difficult, so be sure to practice!

 

 

Fitness Workout - Chris Radford (RAD) & Scott Talpey (Fed Uni)

This is the final week of RAD's on court workouts. As we edge closer to returning to competitive play, it's becoming really clear that a lot of fitness has understandably been lost. Be sure to get to an outdoor court near you to work on your fitness, to be sure you're ready to play as soon as we're allowed to open the doors.

 

 

Challenge of the Week - Amelia Jarvis - CHW Ballarat Youth Rush

Hi there everyone, welcome to Week 8 of the Home-Stay-Play Program starring Ballarat's own - Sam Short!

Sam joins us this week to take us through some progressions on ball handling.

This week Chris takes us through Session #2 of his on court workout, starring Thrifty Junior Miner Hugh Bond!

We're all getting sick of being locked out of the stadium, but try to get down to a local outdoor court and try this out!

WEEK 7

Hi there everyone! Welcome to Week 7 of the Home-Stay-Play Program.

 

Ball Handling & Passing - Alicia Froling - Selkirk Ballarat Rush

We welcome back Alicia Froling this week who continues her work on ball handling and passing. For this weeks session you will need two basketballs, a wall and an outdoor area.

 

 

Fitness Workout - Chris Radford (RAD) & Scott Talpey (Fed Uni)

This week Chris takes us through Session #1 of his on court workout. This can be done on any outdoor court near your house while we wait for the indoor courts to reopen. This is a great workout if you're sick of going for runs or need to start working on your cardio capacity again.

Hey Hoopers, welcome back to Home-Stay-Play for another week.

 

This week we have Selkirk Ballarat Rush's Alicia Froling taking us through a ball handling work out, Rhys Carter from Melbourne United taking us through a shooting session and another strength and conditioning set with Chris Radford and Scott Talpey.

WEEK 2

 

G'day Hoopers!

 

Welcome to week 2 of the Home Stay Play Program. This week we have 3 videos to help you practice those skills in the driveway.

 

The first video is from skills coach Tim Martin from Elite Guard Training. Tim will help you work on your hand speed and foot speed to be more confident dribbling the ball. Don't forget to stay low!

 

 

Second, we will head back to Melbourne United Rhys Carter. This week Rhys will help you with your offensive moves. Be sure to pay attention to the footwork and precision that Rhys pushes for!

 

 

Challenge of the Week!

 

Last but certainly not least we have our 'Challenge of the Week' with our very own Ethan Fiegert. Watch Ethan in the video and then try to beat Ethans score, be sure to film yourself and post your best effort to instagram. Tag @BasketballBallarat and #HomeStayPlay
