Last night, Sunday August 16, we celebrated another fantastic VJBL season at our Junior Presentation Night, recognising the incredible contribution of our athletes, coaches, volunteers and families throughout the season.
The evening began by welcoming our new Under-12 cohort before celebrating the achievements of our Under-14 to Under-18 teams, with MVP and Coaches Awards presented across each age group.
We also presented two special program awards:
Karen Ashby GRIT Award – Presented to two Junior Elite athletes from Miners and Rush who have demonstrated outstanding program culture, sportsmanship, gratitude, respect for the game, and the intensity and toughness that sets them apart.
Brendan Joyce Coach of the Year Award – Presented to a JET coach who has demonstrated the program’s Values and Standards both on and off the court, while showing a commitment to personal development and helping their athletes progress along the State and/or National pathway.
Congratulations to all of our athletes on a fantastic season and thank you to everyone who has contributed to another successful year of Junior Elite basketball. To those continuing into the finals, we wish you all the very best. Go Miners!
