Rush Season Opener Preview v Bendigo

In preparation for the big season opener against Bendigo, Head Coach Peter Cunningham’s focus is on starting well. While he thinks it doesn’t take much to get amped up for a game against Bendigo, he and the team just need to keep in check and remind themselves to focus on starting well on the Court on Friday night. Peter has expressed that the key factors in playing well against Bendigo are defence and remembering to box out. Aggression is another key factor in which Peter wants the team to harness. Whilst Peter has altered many of the offences and thinks the team will be more difficult to guard he also mentioned that it is a simple game, and he doesn’t want to over complicate it. Shanae Geaves is excited about the season opener tonight, and has always enjoyed playing in Ballarat because of the atmosphere. Shanae says that large crowds always get her over the line so she is hopeful that there will be a huge home crowd at the Court.  She noted that Bendigo has some tough guards and thinks the team is ready for the challenge. Shanae thinks that the Bendigo line-up seems to suit her a bit better and she is ready to step it up against some of Bendigo’s key players.  The Rush have been preparing and training really hard this week in order to open the 2015 SEABL campaign strongly against Bendigo.
