Amoore & Taylor

Basketball Ballarat will have representation at the Australian Under-20 Championships with Georgia Amoore and Laura Taylor playing for Vic Country when the Tournament commences tomorrow in Canberra.

Held at Basketball Australia’s Centre of Excellence in Canberra from February 12-17, the tournament will see 30 teams compete in 99 games across six days through the Australian Under-20 & Iver Burge Championships.
Director of Coaching Brendan Joyce was really excited to see the girls selected for Vic Country.

“It’s fantastic to have two ladies selected for the U20 Victorian teams that will play in Australian Championships in Canberra starting today” Joyce said.

Both Amoore and Taylor have been putting in a lot of work at the MARS Minerdome recently preparing for the Championships.

“It will be an experience for life and a valuable learning experience that will hopefully see the players grow in their development from playing against the best players in the country for their age group” Joyce said.

“The U20s age group also provides a great insight to whom can go on and play senior basketball at an elite level” Joyce finished with.
