City Edition Jerseys supporting Make-A-Wish Foundation Revealed

The Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners & Selkirk Ballarat Rush today revealed their special City Edition Jerseys supporting the Make-A-Wish Foundation at Sovereign Hill. The design includes the great history of Ballarat through key icons in Ballarat from the Arch of Victory, Lake Wendouree to even the mine tower at Sovereign Hill.

 

Van Sanders from Sovereign Hill assisted with the design on the front including those key landmarks.

 

“We were approached to contribute to the design so it’s great to give back to the community. So we’ve designed a top that created elements from Ballarat and Sovereign Hill, icons like arch of victory, Olympic rings from the lake, copper heads and other to capture Ballarat in a simple way”

 

Van was thankful to be part of something unique to Ballarat. “It’s great, it’s something different, it’s always good when you see something you worked on or be part of that’s out there and doing something for the good.” Van ended with.

 

Andrew Day from Basketball Ballarat welcomed the opportunity to work closely with the designers to really appreciate how great Ballarat is.

 

“Being locally born in a wonderful city such as Ballarat it was great to be part of creating something special that really represented the city for what it is and to do it all for a great cause makes it much more pleasing.” Andrew Day said.

 

Ross Weightman from the Hotondo Homes Ballarat Miners was thrilled to wear a special jersey with him now residing in Ballarat making the  ‘my town my team’ even more important alongside his team mates.

 

“We’re lucky to play for Ballarat as it’s got a rich history so it’s a special feeling putting on this jersey, that represents something for my family too” Weightman said.

 

Both teams will wear the Jersey this Saturday when they take on Diamond Valley at home from 6pm in NBL1 and hope raising awareness for the foundation can help grant wishes for young children.

Amira Willingham from Hotondo Homes Ballarat was so thankful for the support.

 

“This is absolutely amazing to see! We are proud to support make a wish and feel extremely privileged that Basketball Ballarat wanted to get behind Hotondo Homes and raise support and awareness for such an amazing foundation that make young people’s dreams come true.” Amira said.

 

 

The Make-A-Wish Foundation started in 2014 and over the last 5 years we have granted numerous wishes directly and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars toward the foundation.

 

“We are extremely proud of the foundation and what they achieve in granting wished to children battling terrible illnesses and as a business it is a rewarding feeling knowing that we can help others.” Amira finished with.
